May 29 PIC-SURE Aim 3 Meeting

Peter Tonellato kicked off the meeting.

Denise (from Computational Epidemiology Group) talked about the use of crowd sourcing data in the asthma domain. Focused on the challenges of linking tweets to zip code for a variety of epidemiological applications. Chirag L. (working with Chirag P.) reviewed the various available, some through formal API’s  and others through regular downloaded data sets. Lots of discussions of geographic databases and services.
